Hebrew in AI models in 2026: what really works

Hebrew is still a weak spot for most AI models, but not in every area. For voiceover there are models today that support it officially, for text inside images there are models that work well in our experience, and for speech inside a video and for singing there is no official support yet. This guide keeps apart what makers confirm, what we tested ourselves and what is not verified yet, so you know what to pick for each task.

The short answer

This is where things stand today, area by area, in the models you can create with here:

Hebrew by area
What you wantWhat works todayWhat it rests on
Reading Hebrew text aloudEleven v3, Eleven v4, Eleven v4 Turbo, MiniMax Speech 2.8 HD and MiniMax Speech 2.8 TurboHebrew on the maker’s official language list
Hebrew text inside an imageGPT Image 2, GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, and also Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2GPT Image 2: our internal test and experience. GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana: our experience. No official language list
Hebrew speech inside a videoNo model with official supportSome makers translate Hebrew speech into English, others leave it out or have not tested it
Singing in HebrewNo model with official supportNo official vocal language list includes Hebrew
A prompt written in HebrewNo official support in any modelSome makers confirm only English, or Chinese and English

On the site, a model gets the "Good Hebrew" mark when its official language list includes Hebrew, when our own tests passed, or, for some image models, from our own experience using them. The models page can show just those.

Hebrew voiceover: the safest area

Voiceover is where things are clearest. Five models here include Hebrew on their maker’s official language list:

Three other Eleven models, Multilingual v2, Turbo v2.5 and Flash v2.5, do not include Hebrew on the official list, so the Eleven name alone does not promise Hebrew.

The full comparison of the five, with live prices per 1,000 characters and tips for preparing the text, is in the guide Hebrew AI voiceover. Right now 1,000 characters in Eleven v3 cost ₪0.474.69 crEleven v3, 1,000 chars.

Hebrew text inside an image

This is more complicated. Hebrew runs right to left, and the model has to draw every letter in the right shape and in the right order. When that fails you see reversed letters, swapped letters or words that do not exist.

No image model maker publishes a language list for text inside the image that includes Hebrew, so no model supports it officially. What we have is tests and experience:

  • GPT Image 2 and GPT Image 2.5. In our internal test GPT Image 2 wrote correct Hebrew text, and in our experience the new GPT Image models, including GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, are the best choice today for Hebrew inside an image
  • Nano Banana. In our experience Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro, Google’s image models from the Gemini family, also write good Hebrew. Google publishes no language list that includes Hebrew, so check every image. We have not tested Nano Banana 2 Lite
  • FLUX, Ideogram, Qwen Image and Recraft. Hebrew text has not been tested in the versions you can create with here, and their makers do not mention Hebrew. For Hebrew text, pick a model with the "Good Hebrew" mark
  • Seedream. Not tested by us. The maker of Seedream 5.0 Pro says it supports more than ten languages and names several of them, and Hebrew is not named
  • GPT Image 1.5. Not tested directly

The maker of GPT Image itself warns in its guide that text placement and sharpness can come out wrong, so check every image before you use it.

How to raise the odds of clean Hebrew

  • Write the exact Hebrew text inside quotation marks, and the rest of the description in English
  • Short text works better: a headline or a few words, not a paragraph
  • Say where the text goes and in what style, for example a large headline at the top of the poster
  • Make one image, check the letters, and only then make more
  • When the text is long or has to be perfect, add it afterwards in a design app

Right now a medium quality image in GPT Image 2 costs ₪0.222.21 crGPT Image 2, 1K · 1 image · Medium quality, and an image in Nano Banana 2 costs ₪0.191.88 crNano Banana 2, 1K · 1 image.

Hebrew speech inside a video

No video model you can create with here officially supports Hebrew speech. This is how it looks maker by maker:

  • Kling 3.0: speech is officially supported in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish, and dialogue in any other language is translated into English. In Kling 2.6 the official speech languages are Chinese and English, and other languages are translated into English
  • MiniMax H3: official speech in 11 languages, and Hebrew is not one of them
  • Veo 3.1 and Gemini Omni Flash 1.1: the maker confirms full support for English and says other languages have not been evaluated. We have not tested Hebrew either
  • Seedance, Wan and LTX: no official speech language list. The maker of LTX notes that speech quality varies between languages

So the safe way to a video with Hebrew narration is to create the video on its own, with or without sound, create the voiceover in a speech model that supports Hebrew and join the two in an editing app. You can also upload the voiceover to Wan 2.7 as a driving audio file, and the model times lip movement to it, but there is no official confirmation that this is accurate in Hebrew, and we have not tested it.

Hebrew subtitles are added in the editing app, since no model here creates subtitles.

A prompt in Hebrew or in English

Most makers do not mention Hebrew at all, and those that publish a prompt language list leave it out:

  • For Veo 3.1 and Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 the maker confirms full support only for English, and writes that other languages may work but results vary
  • In the Wan models, such as Wan 3.0, and in the Qwen Image models, prompts are officially supported in Chinese and English
  • The maker of Seedream 5.0 Pro says it supports more than ten languages and names several of them, and Hebrew is not named

Our advice: write the description in English, and keep in Hebrew only what has to appear in Hebrew, such as a headline inside an image, in quotation marks. In speech models the text of course stays in Hebrew, and with Lyria 3.5 it is worth knowing that the model writes the song lyrics in the language of your prompt.

The interface language does not change this: the whole site works in Hebrew from right to left, with English one tap away, but the language of the menus does not change the language you write to the models in.

A song in Hebrew with AI

For singing there is no model with official Hebrew support today:

  • Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro: official vocals in 8 languages, English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese, and Hebrew is not one of them
  • Lyria 3.5: no official language list. The model writes the lyrics in the language of the prompt, but Hebrew singing is not confirmed and we have not tested it
  • Eleven Music v2.5, MiniMax Music 2.6 and MiniMax Music 3: no official vocal language list

What works regardless of language is music without vocals: Eleven Music v2.5 and MiniMax Music 2.6 have an "Instrumental only" switch, and in Lyria you ask for it in the prompt. A 30 second track in Lyria 3 costs ₪0.191.88 crLyria 3, One track right now.

What is not verified yet

So that it is clear what you can rely on, these are the things not yet tested or confirmed:

  • Hebrew text inside an image in GPT Image 2.5 and GPT Image 1.5 has not been tested by us directly. The advice to use GPT Image 2.5 rests on our experience and on the test of GPT Image 2
  • Nano Banana: the advice rests on our experience, with no structured test. Nano Banana 2 Lite has not been tested
  • Hebrew text inside an image in FLUX, Ideogram, Qwen Image, Recraft and Seedream has not been tested in the versions you can create with here
  • The Hebrew reading quality of MiniMax Speech 2.8 has not had a structured listening test from us, beyond its official support
  • Hebrew speech in Veo 3.1, Seedance and Wan has not been tested, and Hebrew lip sync is not confirmed in any model
  • Hebrew singing in Lyria 3.5 and the other music models has not been tested
  • Emotion tags in English inside Hebrew text have not been tested systematically by us

The bottom line: Hebrew voiceover has a wide choice with official backing today, text inside images has models that work well in our experience, and for a video with a Hebrew voice you add a separate voiceover. That way every part of the project is made in the model that truly fits it.

Questions and answers

Does Veo 3.1 speak Hebrew?

There is no official confirmation. The maker of Veo 3.1 confirms full support only for English and says other languages have not been evaluated, and we have not tested Hebrew either. For Hebrew narration, create the video on its own and add a voiceover from a model that supports Hebrew, such as Eleven v4

Does Kling speak Hebrew?

Not officially. In Kling 3.0 speech is supported in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish, and dialogue in any other language, Hebrew included, is translated into English

Which Eleven models support Hebrew?

Eleven v3, Eleven v4 and Eleven v4 Turbo. Three other Eleven models, Multilingual v2, Turbo v2.5 and Flash v2.5, do not have Hebrew on their official language list

Which model writes Hebrew text inside an image?

In our experience the new GPT Image models, GPT Image 2 and GPT Image 2.5, write Hebrew inside an image best, and GPT Image 2 also passed our internal test. Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2 also write good Hebrew in our experience. No maker confirms Hebrew officially, so check every image before use

Can AI make a song in Hebrew?

No music model here officially supports Hebrew vocals. Lyria 3.5 writes lyrics in the language of the prompt, but Hebrew singing is not confirmed and has not been tested. Music without vocals works regardless of language

Should I write prompts in Hebrew or in English?

In English. Some makers confirm full support only for English, or for Chinese and English, and none confirms Hebrew. Keep in Hebrew only the text that has to appear in the image, in quotation marks
