How to choose an AI video model for the job

No single video model is best at everything. Some create speech and sound, some keep a character or product the same through the clip, some reach 30 seconds and some cost little. This guide goes through what really matters when you choose, and shows for each need which models fit, based on what the makers confirm and what you can create here.

The short answer

Start from what the clip has to do, not from which model is most famous. The table sums up the main matches, and every row is explained below:

Which model for which need

Every model is on the models page, with a live price and a short note on what it does best.

Talking characters and built-in sound

Most video models here also create sound: ambience, effects, music and sometimes speech with lip movement. The differences are in the details:

  • Veo 3.1 and Veo 3.1 Fast: speech, effects and ambience are generated with the picture, in clips of 4, 6 or 8 seconds. According to the official prompting guide, a line the character says goes inside quotation marks
  • Kling 3.0: dialogue, ambience, effects and lip sync, up to 15 seconds. Sound is off by default and you can turn it on: 5 seconds cost ₪2.1121.09 crKling 3.0, 1080p · 5s · no sound without sound and ₪3.1631.64 crKling 3.0, 1080p · 5s · with sound with sound
  • Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5: sound is generated with the picture. The maker of Seedance 2.0 says the lips match the dialogue, but scenes with several speakers have sync errors. In Seedance 2.5 the looks and voices of several characters stay consistent through the clip
  • Wan 3.0: dialogue with lip sync, effects and background music, and the sound can be turned off
  • Kling 2.6: voiceover, dialogue and even singing, in clips of 5 or 10 seconds

Some models have no sound listed by their makers, so the clip comes out silent: Ray 3.2, Hailuo 2.3 and Gen-4.5. They fit when you add your own music or voiceover in editing anyway.

The same character or product in every clip

When a character or product has to look the same across several clips, use the "References" mode: attach images of the character, the product or the style, and the model builds a new scene around them. How many images you can attach here:

Sample images by model
ModelHow many imagesWhat else you can attach
Seedance 2.5Up to 30One reference video and one audio file
Wan 3.0Up to 10One audio file
Seedance 2.0Up to 9One reference video and one audio file
MiniMax H3Up to 9One reference video and one audio file
Kling O3Up to 7One reference video. According to the maker, with a video the limit is 4 images
Veo 3.1Up to 3Only in 8 second clips

Another way is to start from a photo: upload a picture of the product as the start image, so the first frame is the product itself. Seedance 1.5 Pro, for example, has a fixed camera switch that keeps the camera still, and its maker says the model also handles complex camera moves, from close ups to wide shots.

Upload a sharp photo. The maker of Kling 2.6 notes that a sharper source photo gives a better video.

Length and resolution

AI clips are short. These are the lengths you can choose here in the main models:

Clip length by model
ModelLength
Veo 3.1, Veo 3.1 Fast, Veo 3.1 Lite4, 6 or 8 seconds
Gemini Omni Flash 1.13 to 10 seconds
Kling 3.0, Kling O33 to 15 seconds
Seedance 2.0, MiniMax H34 to 15 seconds
LTX-2.5 Fast2 to 20 seconds, and over 10 seconds only at 720p or 1080p
Seedance 2.54 to 30 seconds
Wan 3.02 to 30 seconds

Need a longer video? Join several clips in editing, or use Wan 2.7, which can continue an existing clip of 2 to 10 seconds.

For resolution, 720p is enough for social media and 1080p fits most uses. 4K is available in Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 and LTX-2.3 Pro, among others. According to the maker of Veo 3.1, 1080p and 4K are meant for 8 second clips, and here you can also pick them at 4 and 6 seconds. In Veo 3.1 with sound on and no reference images, 1080p and 4K are made here by enlarging a 720p clip, and for Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 the maker notes that 1080p and 4K are upscaled from a lower resolution result.

Price and speed

The price depends on the model, the length, the resolution and sometimes the sound. This is what short clips cost right now, at similar settings:

A short clip in several models
ModelSettingsPriceCredits
Veo 3.1 Lite720p · 8s · with sound₪0.707.03 cr
Veo 3.1 Fast720p · 8s · with sound₪1.4114.06 cr
Veo 3.1720p · 8s · with sound₪5.8658.58 cr
Kling 3.0720p · 5s · no sound₪1.6416.41 cr
Seedance 2.0 Mini720p · 5s · with sound₪2.1121.09 cr
Seedance 2.0720p · 5s · with sound₪4.2242.18 cr
Wan 3.0720p · 5s · no sound₪1.1711.72 cr
MiniMax H3768p · 5s₪0.949.38 cr

Some models are priced by the second, and others per clip, so extra length does not always cost more. On the models page the video models are listed from cheapest to most expensive by the price of one generation at the starting settings, and every model page has a table by length and resolution.

Fast and budget versions

Many models come in several versions, with names such as Lite, Mini, Fast, Turbo or Flash beside the full one. What the makers actually confirm:

Such versions exist here in other families too, for example Kling 3.0 Turbo beside Kling 3.0, MiniMax H3 Max Turbo beside MiniMax H3 Max, and LTX-2.5 Fast beside LTX-2.5 Pro. Each one’s price is on its own page.

We do not publish generation times, so the reliable comparison here is price. A budget version fits testing an idea, and the final version is made in the full model. If you came here after Sora shut down, the alternatives are in the guide Sora shut down: what happened and what to use instead.

How to tell which model is really good

We have no quality benchmark of our own, but there are independent rankings. On an independent image to video leaderboard from September 2026, MiniMax H3 ranks 1st of 48 and Wan 3.0 ranks 3rd. Rankings move fast, so they are a starting point, not a final answer.

The makers themselves point out strengths worth knowing: Seedance 2.0 handles fast action such as sports and fights well, and Seedance 2.5 reaches 30 seconds in one generation while keeping several characters consistent.

The safest way is to try the same prompt in two or three models, in a short version. Every model runs on the same balance, and switching models updates the price at once.

And what about Hebrew

No video model you can create with here officially supports Hebrew speech. In Kling 3.0, dialogue in a language that is not on its list is translated into English, and for Veo 3.1 the maker confirms full support only for English. So write the prompt in English, create the Hebrew voiceover separately in a speech model such as Eleven v4, and join them in editing.

The full details are in the guides Hebrew in AI models and Hebrew AI voiceover. When you choose by what the clip really needs, you pay for the model that fits rather than for the famous name.

Questions and answers

What is the best AI video model?

No single one is best at everything. For talking characters Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0 fit, for a character or product that stays the same Seedance 2.5, and for a clip of up to 30 seconds also Wan 3.0. It is worth trying the same prompt in two or three models

What is the cheapest AI video model?

It depends on the settings. On the models page the video models are listed from cheapest to most expensive by the price of one generation at the starting settings. Right now, for example, 8 seconds at 720p cost ₪0.707.03 crVeo 3.1 Lite, 720p · 8s · with sound in Veo 3.1 Lite

What is the difference between a Fast version and the full model?

The difference you see at once is the price. In Veo 3.1, for example, 8 seconds at 720p cost ₪1.4114.06 crVeo 3.1 Fast, 720p · 8s · with sound in Veo 3.1 Fast and ₪5.8658.58 crVeo 3.1, 720p · 8s · with sound in Veo 3.1. Test an idea in the budget version, and make the final version in the full model

Which is better: Veo 3.1 or Kling 3.0?

It depends on the clip. In Veo 3.1 clips run up to 8 seconds, and sound and speech are generated with the picture. Kling 3.0 reaches 15 seconds, its sound is an option you choose, and speech is officially supported in five languages. Right now 8 seconds at 720p in Veo 3.1 cost ₪5.8658.58 crVeo 3.1, 720p · 8s · with sound, and 5 seconds at 720p in Kling 3.0 cost ₪1.6416.41 crKling 3.0, 720p · 5s · no sound

Which model fits Reels and TikTok?

Any model that offers a 9:16 frame, which is most of the models here. In Veo 3.1 Lite, for example, you pick 9:16 and get a vertical clip with sound. Choose the frame when you create, because cropping a wide clip loses part of the picture

Can I make a video that speaks Hebrew?

Not officially. No video model here officially supports Hebrew speech. Create the video, create a Hebrew voiceover in a model such as Eleven v4 and join the two in an editing app
